Adnan: Displaced from Iraq Since 2011

Adnan has been making carpets as a hobby since he was nine years old. In Iraq, he was also a certified sign language interpreter with a lucrative career. Since emigrating to Jordan as a refugee a few years ago, Adnan has struggled to make ends meet for himself and his family. Now, with NEF and the US State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration’s Enhancing the Economic Resiliency of Poor Jordanians and Displaced Iraqis project, Adnan is learning new skills he can use to generate an income when he is resettled, including business skills and vocational training.
