For more than three decades, the Near East Foundation has touched the lives of millions of disadvantaged people in the African nation of Sudan.
As one of the few continuously operating international NGOs in the country, our projects are improving lives and communities through education, peace-building, business development, agriculture and natural resource management, climate adaptation, and health care.
Since 1978, NEF has gained an unparalleled depth of knowledge about local communities and institutions, and the development challenges facing Sudan. Currently, a team of 10 highly trained staff members—all Sudanese—focus their efforts on three programmatic areas:
NEF's Sudan headquarters is in Khartoum, with field offices in Dilling (South Kordofan) and El Obeid (North Kordofan).
