In a country ravaged by 25 years of civil war, NEF is supporting the peace process by providing an alternative livelihood to conflict for hundreds of former Sudanese soldiers.
To help them re-integrate - both economically and socially - into their communities, we are training them in business skills and conflict management.
Following the trainings, NEF offers micro-credit loans, in-kind grants, and ongoing business coaching to help ex-combatants start their own small businesses.
By providing the tools and skills they need to become financially independent, the project is giving them hope for a new life after war.
In donating to the Near East Foundation, you support education, enterprise, and community empowerment in some of the Middle East and North Africa's most impoverished areas.
