SUSTAINABILITY
Monica is a community volunteer at NEF/Sudan’s recently opened reproductive health center in Dar Es-Salaam, a displaced persons camp outside of Khartoum. Besides
her volunteer work, she runs her own business.
With a loan from an NEF-established credit program, she set up a tiny mobile shop which more than triples her family income each month. She sells a variety of goods including bread, sweets, matches, and basic medicines.
When Monica paid back her loan, she helped make the credit program self-sustaining. Her effort makes her own business sustainable, and her volunteer work at the health center ensures its future. |
