In one of the many activities which constitute the Al-Darb Al-Ahmar Integrated Action Project in Cairo, NEF staff work together with project partners from the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC), Middle East Technology Assistance (META), and local vendors in a process of participatory planning for the area's new vegetable market. The process involved vendors, clients, government official and architects in a lengthy process of assuring that all those involved had a say in the design of new community facilities. more...
