All of the rural campers and half of those from the city had never seen the sea before splashing and playing around was part of their daily morning routine from July 19 to August 2.

There also were art classes in painting, theater, music and song, public speaking, even cooking.

Each child received a medical examination as well as a new sports outfit provided by the U.S. Ambassador to Morocco, Thomas T. Riley, and the project's main funder, the U.S. Department of State's Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).

This spring NEF and the Ouarzazate branch of the Education and Development Society partnered on a nine-day workshop for the enrichment of Moroccan teens 14-to-16 years old.

Main topics were human rights, citizenship, culture as well as just plain fun--formally labeled "entertainment and recreation."

Trucks filled with large crates of clothing, shoes, toys and books made their way up the rugged mountain roads of the High Atlas Mountains.

The trucks contents were distributed to the neediest women and children in these remote Berber villages, by enthusiastic volunteers of the Spanish organization "Azul en Accion."
