The Near East Foundation maintains Learning Resource Centers in Egypt and Sudan. Foundation offices in Amman, Jordan and Ramallah, West Bank have small libraries with close links to those in Cairo and Khartoum.

All NEF Resource Centers and libraries can assist in locating information and materials. In some cases smaller satellite libraries may be more up-to-date on country specific materials or have additional information on specialized programs.

Staff in the LRC can help to answer enquiries and assist visitors in locating hard-to-find materials available in regional and local markets.

NEF Holdings

The Cairo-based Center for Development Services; Learning Resource Center (CDS-LRC), as all NEF Information Centers, specializes in materials for support of field-based practice and management in development areas. The CDS-LRC contains more than 30,000 items organized and computerized according to categories and key words.

Both English and Arabic printed and audio-visual materials are available. (This applies only to English language publications and materials. The Arabic collection is at the current time not available in a searchable format.) NEF Holdings is currently under construction.

A similar, smaller collection is available with NEF in Khartoum. To gain access, contact or visit the Foundation Office in Khartoum or to enquire as to resources and assistance available in satellite libraries.
