Dear Friend,
As the conflict in Lebanon escalates so does the impact on an estimated 500,000 people who have fled their homes and the bombing. According to our reports, some 65,000 people have taken shelter in schools and parks; 70 schools already are occupied, overcrowded, with more people coming. Others are trapped in homes without electricity, running water, and the basics for survival.
NEF has teamed up with 5 long-time partner Lebanese organizations well located in the most hard hit areas to provide immediate logistics and outreach. Our first priorities are food, medicine, first aid & hygiene kits, sleeping bags -- particularly for children, the elderly, and women.
NEF is closely monitoring this rapidly changing situation and will expand relief to other communities in the region...if our financial resources permit. Further displacements are expected on an even larger scale.
Please donate to support NEF’s emergency assistance to the Lebanese people. Your donation will reach the people who need it most.
